The launch of Serbia’s first private health care platform

The Serbian health care market has traditionally been characterised by a large number of independent medical providers, not necessarily cooperating with each other or sharing expertise and resources. This pattern, with the recent creation of MediGroup, is now subject to an exciting change.

The private equity fund Blue Sea Capital has initiated the consolidation of some of the leading Serbian private health care providers, resulting in the creation of a unique health care platform under the brand name MediGroup. The private health care market in Serbia is still underdeveloped, and the respective management teams of Dr Ristic and Jevremova, supported by Blue Sea Capital, have formed MediGroup with the shared vision to become a nationwide provider of high quality health services across Serbia. At present Medigroup consists of health center Dr Ristic and special gynaecological hospital (with maternity ward), Jevremova, both long standing market leading institutions of excellent reputation. With the plan to build an extensive network of health centers both in Belgrade and in other major towns across Serbia, MediGroup aims to provide a range of comprehensive medical services to the population of Serbia, both in primary and secondary health care and to ensure easy access to necessary medical procedures using state of the art equipment and technology and offering access to top medical personnel.

Commenting on the establishment of the MediGroup platform, Sasa Galic, Managing Partner at Blue Sea Capital said: ”We are proud of the considerable development already achieved by the market-leading health care providers and existing members of the MediGroup platform, and are excited by the future growth prospects and reach of the brand we have created.”
